Over 1,100 new companies with foreign owners were registered in 2024, according to the Unified State Register. This is a 24.2% decrease compared to 2023. The highest number of these businesses were opened in Kyiv, Lviv region, and Odesa region. Citizens of Turkey, Poland, and the United States were the most frequent foreign entrepreneurs in Ukraine last year.
1,109 new companies with foreign ownership were registered in Ukraine in 2024. This is a 24% decrease compared to 2023. Compared to 2021, the number of foreign-owned businesses decreased by 60%.
In 2024, citizens from 78 countries opened businesses in Ukraine. The most active were citizens from Turkey, with 201 companies registered. Following them were citizens from Poland — 90 companies and the United States — 89 companies.
Almost half of the new foreign companies are concentrated in Kyiv — 542 (48.9%). Other popular regions include Lviv Oblast — 137 companies (12.4%) and Odesa Oblast — 122 companies (11%).
Foreign companies in Ukraine are most commonly involved in wholesale trade (255 companies, 23%), computer programming (109 companies, 9.8%), and real estate operations (86 companies, 7.8%).
Among the newly established companies last year, the largest charter capital is held by LLC “DVL UKR” from Kyiv. Its ultimate beneficiary is a French citizen, and the charter capital amounts to 1.18 billion UAH. Other top companies include LLC “TRADE SOLUTIONS” (456.7 million UAH) and LLC “DK KYIV OUTLET” (335.6 million UAH), both owned by a Czech citizen.
Additionally, among the registered companies, some have connections with prominent Ukrainian financial and industrial groups (FPGs). One such example is “Ombri Electrical Energy Co.Limited”, owned by a Greek citizen, but it belongs to the Lьovochkіn family group. Another example is “AP Bioenergy Complex”, which has owners from the United States and Austria, but is linked to the AVEC concern (Feldman group).
